7.3.1 d

d. Relate in environment

      Robots are valuable environmental tools.

They have investigated and cleaned up after nuclear power plant disasters, saving countless people from exposure to deadly radiation.

Some robots are built to withstand intense temperatures, navigate through smoke with ease, and lift heavy items.
Robots clean asbestos from pipes, and safely strip paint from ships.

They have helped biologists tackle pollution and safeguard the environment.

The robot integration industry itself is environmentally conscious.  bring new life to old, outdated, and surplus robotic equipment

By re-integrating and refurbishing used robots, resources are conserved while factory-condition systems are provided.

(Robot integration is the process of adding peripherals to a robot to create a complete unit. The resulting work cell is programmed, equipped with specialized memory, tooling, and guarding devices)
